Tarog Project
Tarog Project
Our most advanced project, Tarog Project is a 844.0120-hectare low sulfidation epithermal gold-base metal mineralization located in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental. As Midan's main project, the Tarog project has been explored since 2014. It is primarily composed of epithermal gold-carbonate base metal in quartz vein, fault related hydrothermal breccias with a strong potential for buried porphyry copper at depth. It is under an exploration permit owned by Midan with a recently approved first renewal. Midan has completed detailed mapping, geochemical and geophysical survey, and partial trenching, and has discovered seven prospects, Tarog Prospect, Cabuyonan Prospect, Malagkit Prospect, Bankolino Prospect, Talam-Isan Prospect, Tarog-Catmon Prospect and Bankonalan Prospect, for gold base metal potential.
Location
Tarog Project is located in Sitio Tarog, Barangays San Francisco/San Pedro/San Milagrosa, Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental, Philippines. It lies on the most southeastern part of the Southwest Negros Mineral District, a 60km long, 25km wide NW trending belt of exposed batholith known as the Pagatban Intrusive Complex (PIC). It is in close proximity to the Late Negros Magmatic Arc and is located 580km south of Manila.
Exploration
Midan has completed detailed mapping, geochemical and geophysical survey and partial trenching in the area. Our geophysics study indicated presence of porphyry system at depth and our trenching program identified at least four gold bearing veins/breccias in our most promising Tarog prospect, with highest Au assayed at 28.8 g/t. In addition, our XRD analysis has further confirmed epithermal gold-carbonate base metals mineralization in vein and fault related hydrothermal breccias.
Timeline
With our recently approved first renewal of exploration permit, Midan will be conducting its first-stage exploratory drilling in the first half of 2021. Upon the completion of this first-stage program, Midan will conduct its second-stage exploratory drilling in 2022 with definition drilling to follow.
